Born in what is now known as Rue Sax, named after him, Adolphe Sax, the inventor of the saxophone was born in the town. In 1814, when Sax was born, few would have realised that one of the greatest and best known musical instruments was being born too. Working primarily in France across the border, Sax’s home is an interesting historical place to visit.
