Running for miles along the edge of the town, this anti-tank ditch was dug during World War I and has remained in place ever since that time. Because of its proximity to Antwerp, the community has been of military significance for many centuries, and this trench is a lasting reminder of that. Visitors are encouraged to follow the path and remember the many who died in those dark days of Europe.
