Map
This fascinating piece of architecture was designed by the world famous engineer Andre Waterkeyn for the 1958 World Exhibition which took place in Brussels. . The structure, which stands out in the middle of a busy street is a crystal molecule of iron atom that has been magnified many billions of times. There are nine large spheres that represent the nine provinces of Belgium, held together by steel rods.
