There is a long sandy beach that stretches for several kilometres along the front of the town, and is one of the main attractions to the community. Offering a great fun place to go in the summer for all the family, the beach is guarded in places and offers nice views of the pier and the coast. In the winter the beach offers bracing walks, and although many of the associated amenities are closed, a great place to experience.
