Without a doubt, the city hall is one of the most beautiful and elegant buildings at the heart of Gent. With a history of administration in this area that dates back to the 14th Century, it is surprising how much of the ancient building is still in tact. Obviously a great deal of changes have been made throughout the ages, and each time they have been done well, making for an effortless fusion of styles, celebrating the architectural prowess of Flanders.
