This little statue is one of the most well loved pieces of public art anywhere in the whole country. Hidden away underground in this small galleria on the main square at the heart of the city, the monument was made in the 19th Century by famous architect Julien Dillens. It represents the man who by legend protected the city from attack in the 14th Century. It is said if you rub the wrist of the statue you will be granted good luck.
