This street leads down to what was once the old port and has therefore always played a significant part in the history of the city. Filled with wonderful examples of Flemish architecture that have grown up over a period of many centuries, the fine buildings show different time periods in the history of the city and have all been crafted to a detailed and fascinating extent, changing every few paces you take.
