Gent has a long military history, as it has had to have due to the many armies that have tried to conquer it over the years. The fighting in Europe throughout the Middle Ages was fierce and involved almost all good sized towns and cities. This museum displays a collection of the weapons that would have been used at this time, and examines the developments in technology and how things have changed, changing warfare with them.
