Brussels is effectively the home of Art Nouveau, a movement that swept the western world and can be seen in almost every city in Europe to some extent. Victor Horta is credited as being the artist and architect who cam up with the idea and he lived in this fantastic house until 1919. The house was opened to the public in the 1990s and contains a celebration of Horta’s works.
