This beautiful building is one of many that are important in the fascinating architectural history of Brussels. Belgium has led the way in architecture and design from the late 19th Century, mainly because of one very important figure, Victor Horta. The local man was responsible for inventing Art-Nouveau, and this house is thought to be the very best residential example of his work anywhere in the world, dating from 1903.
