Denis Adrien Debouvrie was commissioned in 1985 to somehow try to create a female counterpart to the world-famous Manneken Pis, one of the great symbols of Belgium. This was a difficult task as how could such a great symbol be added to or complimented. With both its lovers and its critics, this statue is the result of that project and can be found down this quaint little street.
