Mayer van den Bergh was an avid art collector of the 19th Century and throughout his life brought together one of the largest private collections of art that can be found anywhere in Belgium. This great looking building houses not only a large set of paintings that come from the local Flemish artists, but painters from almost every major school find representation in the collection.
