Often referred to as the Lake of Love, this beautiful lake is actually part of a canal, but treated by locals as a separate body of water. Visitors are presented with an idyllic scene of old fashioned Belgium as they stand on the bridge that was created in 1740 and offers a great panorama of Brugge. This is a place that all visitors to the area must visit in order to get a feel for how the people of Brugge have lived, unchanged for generations.
