In England, the seaside is hardly complete without a pleasure pier. However in Belgium, in fact almost anywhere else in the world, such a thing is almost unheard of. Therefore, this town is worth visiting if it is only to see the only pleasure pier anywhere in Belgium, stretching a whopping 350 metres out into the North Sea, built in 1933.
