There are a number of remarkable private houses in the heart of Charleroi, some of which are extremely well preserved and rather old. These two properties are thought to date from the mid 1700s and offer some amazing exterior carvings that are unsurpassed anywhere else in the city. The attention to detail is such of that which one might expect when looking at a religious building, not a private home.
