Officially this market place is known as Place Sainte-Catherine, but most people refer to the area as it has always been used, simply as the fish market. In days gone by fishermen used to sail and then in later times steam their way into the heart of the city to sell their produce at the market. Today, the market is still a vibrant place to visit, surrounded by some of the best seafood restaurants in the city.
