Saint Quintinus Cathedral is the main church of the city, situated in the area where the first settlement took place in Hasselt. The church displays a good deal of different building styles, as different sections have been added throughout the ages. The lower part of the church is a reminder of the original Romanesque church that was built in the 12th Century, whereas other parts like the tower are far more naturally Gothic in style.
