The River Scheldt divides the city of Antwerp, from the historic side of the community on the right bank and the more modern districts on the left. This interesting foot tunnel is one of the main ways that pedestrians cross the river, going down escalators or stairs into the ten minute walkway. It is well worth a walk through the tunnel to admire the feat of engineering or simply to get to some of the naturally beautiful sites on the left bank.
