T Sweert translates as ‘The Sword’ and is thought to be one of the oldest houses in the Low Countries. A beautiful example of a timbered house, at one stage almost all of the buildings in the centre of the city would have looked like this. The original building dates from around 1462, and was renovated in 1659. The house is one of the more visited residences by architectural experts and enthusiasts.
