The Broeltorens are two medieval towers that stand at the entrance to the city where the river enters. They are the only real remains of the ancient walls that once surrounded the whole community, acting as a serious fortification. Louis XIV of France and his troops destroyed the rest of the walls in 1684, and it is thought that these towers were built in the 12th Century.
