The Cathedral of Malmedy was built as an abbey in 1775, dedicated to a series of saints, including Peter, Paul and Quinn. It became the parish church in 1819 and a hundred and one years later in 1920 was again raised in status to become a cathedral. Some damaged was incurred by bombing in the Second World War, but this was carefully repaired, returning the church to its former glory.
