The Gootbrug or the ‘main bridge’ as it translates into English is rather misleading in its name, as there are much larger bridges in the modern age, but at the time it was built it was the only bridge. The first crossing to be put in place across the River Dyle in the 13th Century, this is an interesting piece of architecture and a truly historic feat of engineering.
