The Maison Bourgeois is currently occupied by the offices of the tourist board, but has always been one of the more important buildings in the city. Built in 1806, its grand facades are typical of the Walloon style building techniques that wee being used at that time. One cannot forget how much pride the Belgian people put into their architecture at this time, and the importance the nation had in moving the styles forward.
