The May Pole stands at the heart of the community on the Vroonhof, and is a poignant reminder of the relationship that the people of the town have with the earth. A celebration of hops, it was gifted to the town by its hop growing twin in Germany in 1976. There has remained a close relationship between Popringe and Wolnzach in Bavaria ever since.
