The Meat House is a fine example of an ancient building in the centre of the city. Remarkably still standing after it was built in 1275, the house in the lower section would have for centuries been a butchers shop. The excellent gilding and decoration around the façade suggests the effort that went into commercial properties of this time architecturally.
