Medieval Towers
Wateringstraat, Ieper 8900 - Belgium

Map
Both the Lion and Dominican Towers would have been extremely important parts of the medieval ramparts that protected the old city. It is thought that the towers date from around 1383, but it was not until the mid 1980s that they were both discovered again, buried and a long way from the public view for many centuries. They are well worth a close look at if you get the chance.
