Saint Gilles Hospice is a fantastic piece of ancient architecture that stands on the banks of the River Meuse, close to where the confluence meets the Sambre River. It is thought that the hospital was one of the first of its types and was probably in existence in the early 13th Century. However, the majority of the current building that one can see is from the 18th Century.
