Located in Hendrikaplein, close to the heart of the town, this open air art work is well loved and represents the spirit of the town. A bronze St. Bernard dog, the statue makes a reference to the Patron Saint of Nieuwpoort, Saint Bernard. Created by eminent artist and sculptor Monique Mol, the piece was unveiled in 1998, and has remained since that time.
