The original purpose of the mill was for drawing oil, but was later converted to be used for grain. It is not known exactly when the mill was built, but estimates suggest it was probably created around the beginning of the 18th Century. Standing on a small hill, it is a recognisable and iconic symbol of the community which is well looked after and visited.
