The Wallon area of Belgium is the area in which people speak French rather than Flemish, and is significantly different to the other part of the country. The museum is concerned with tracing the history of this region in the context of Belgium as a nation and before the unification of the country as a nation state. There are many artefacts and documents on display to help tell this story.
