The Abbey of Stavelot was founded in 650 and was one of the most important buildings in the area for many years. However, during the French Revolution almost all of the building was sadly destroyed, leaving only this, one remaining tower. It is a marvellous piece of architecture that is well loved by the local people and visited by tourists from across the world.
