The Amicitia Meeting Hall was built in 1913 as a Roman Catholic social club and was designed by the eminent architect A van der Heyden, whose work can be seen across the city. The beautiful wrought-iron balconies are a wonderful sight to passers by and the roof is held up by an innovative metal frame that was cutting edge for its time.
