The Church of the Holy Heart is a 20th Century structure, the first stone of which was laid in 1903. In 1999 it was listed as a registered monument, because of the brilliance of the design, and an acceptance that the relatively modern architectural techniques were just as important as the ancient ones. The beautiful stained glass was created by gifts that were given to the church by people of the city.
