The main market is without a doubt the most impressive open space in the whole of the city. From the 12th Century onwards the expansion of the city at a fast rate saw a need for a central square and market place and this is what developed. Surrounded by good looking facades and a range of places to eat and drink, it is a definite place to stop and take stock before discovering the city.
