The Market Square was once the only true centre of this city, and until 1704 housed the market halls and the belfry for the community. The original layout can still be seen on the cobblestones that run through the area. The fantastic open space is the first place you should head for as a visitor because it is central and is surrounded by some of the best looking buildings and facades in the city.
