This statue of Albert Rodenbach is one of many pieces that are dotted around the city that celebrate the long and rich cultural and literary history of the area. The fine statue was erected in 1909 as part of a Flemish festival. The piece was designed b well known artist of the region Jules Lagae and is one of the most well loved pieces of artwork in public.
