Located within the main park, this statue is by the world famous author and sculptor, Georges Gard Femme. The piece is called ‘The Woman Looking at the Sun’. It is one of the most well loved and celebrated pieces of public art in the community, a real treat to be seen outside of a museum or gallery. The statue also acts as a memorial to the artist who died in the city in 1984.
