The town hall was originally founded as a Benedictine Abbey, and after great deals of changes were made, and additions carried out, it became the centre of administration. A spectacular piece of architecture, the religious elements that remain, simply add to the elegance and beauty of the piece. It was in 1809 that the building officially became the town hall and has been non stop ever since.
