The town hall is a large and impressive building that is steeped in history and located at the very centre of the city. Towering above many of the smaller buildings of the city centre, the town hall represents through architecture the great pride that the people of the city feel for their freedoms. It is thought that the majority of what you see today was designed in the early 19th Century.
