The lake is a popular feature of the area and is a large body of water that spreads to the south of the main town centre. Throughout the year the lake attracts a great deal of wild life and birds that come from across the region to enjoy the safety and calm of the inland water. The tress and plants that surround the lake make it a fine place to go for a walk or sit and have a picnic.
